Thoughts on The Martial Arts Show Live May 2011 at the NEC

We had a great time at the Martial Arts show in May; it was a great success with a huge turn out, so thanks to all who help make it such a brilliant day! We thoroughly enjoyed all the different zones and the performances of various martial arts styles, some using dangerous traditional weapons. It was great to see so much passion for this sport. There was never a dull moment, with some record breaking from Manjit Singh who lifted a 10kg weight with his eye socket! There were four more world record attempts which were each as exciting to watch as each other. We were all very impressed, especially as the previous record was 6kg. Another thing which was so good about the show was that there was something for everyone, lots of different martial arts, from tatami to lei tai. There was also a fashion show and an appearance from Gok Wan which the women on the team were excited about. There was also many free lessons going on so everyone could have a go and possibly find a new hobby. We are completely behind the aim of the event which was to put martial arts back on the map! Not only could you get autographs from legends such as Bill Wallace and Cynthia Rothrock but you could train with them too! Incredible. This event had quite a high profile as both the BBC and Channel 4 were there. Meeting all our clients and potential clients and having a drink with them all was of course the best part for us as that is why we were there.

Best wishes, NEST
